KANSAS OPEN RECORDS ACT (KORA) K.S.A. 45-215 et. seq.

Osborne County is covered under the Kansas Open Records Act and therefore has a Freedom of Information Officer to which you can make requests or to which you may appeal a determination by one of the county offices. For general information on KORA click here.

The current Freedom of Information Officer is Heather Betzold.  You may call the office at 785-346-2431 if you have questions or requests.

Each office has specific pricing for frequently requested documents from their office, but the standard fee for black & white 8.5" x 11" photocopies is $0.25 per side with the search fee of $7.00 an hour. 

REQUESTING A RECORD

  1. Contact the office that you believe holds the record.  The office may request that you submit your request in writing.  Make your request as specific as possible to expedite the process.  You are not obligated to use a specific form, but you may download the standard county request form.
  2. The County has three business days to either produce the document or provide information why it has not been produced.
  3. If you have been denied access to a record, but feel that it was incorrect please contact the Freedom of Information Officer listed above.
