Auto, Light Truck and Recreational Vehicle tag renewals are based on the first letter of the last name of the registered owner.

| S | 9-15 | 10-31 |
| T - V - W | 10-15 | 11-30 |
| U - X - Y - Z | 11-15 | 12-31 |
Heavy Trucks and Trailers expire December 31st, but cannot be purchased until January 1st.
Proof of Insurance is required - K.S.A. 8-173
You will also be required to provide your KS Drivers' License, KS ID or FEIN number in order to tag or title a vehicle.
